Floating Thread Rivet Nuts
Sherex® by PEM® floating thread rivet nuts are engineered specifically for assemblies where hole misalignment between mating components creates installation difficulties. The internally floating thread design allows the threaded insert to self-align within a defined range during fastener engagement, accommodating tolerance variation without requiring rework or adjusted hole positions.
RIV-FLOAT® is a patented product from Sherex® by PEM® that's available in a standard version and a short version, which accommodates applications with tighter backside clearances. RIV-FLOAT® can be installed using standard rivet nut tooling.
Floating thread rivet nuts are a cost-effective alternative to precision hole preparation or manual alignment operations, significantly reducing assembly time and rework rates in complex multi-component structures.
