When Edge Distance Is the Constraint, Head Geometry Is the Answer
Installing a standard hex-head standoff near a sheet edge pushes material outward – panels bulge, structural integrity suffers, and layout options shrink.
The new PEM® SOK™ and SOKS™ self clinching standoffs eliminate that tradeoff.
The knurled round head keeps material displacement tightly controlled during installation, allowing a hole centerline-to-edge distance as close as .126” / 3.2mm – with a post-installation head that sits flush and flat against the sheet surface.


Controlled Material Displacement
The knurled round head geometry displaces significantly less material than a hex-head design – for closer-to-edge clinching without bulging or weakening the surrounding sheet.
Minimum Edge Distance: .126” / 3.2mm
Tighter edge proximity than standard standoffs allow – without compromising panel integrity or assembly quality.
Flush, Flat Post-Installation Profile
The head sits flush to the sheet surface after installation.
Broad Material Availability
Available in steel and stainless steel to meet a wide range of application requirements.
Installation
Uses standard HAEGER® and PEMSERTER® installation tooling.

- Unified thread sizes: #2-56, #4-40, #6-32
